The Real Adult Life
One of the great things about living in Nauvoo is the temple is RIGHT there. It was really hard to go to the temple in Virginia (especially with little kids). With the temple being 3.5 hours away, we either had to leave Lachlan with somebody ALL day, or bring a babysitter with us - which was hard to do on Ward/Stake temple day when everyone else wants to go to the Temple too. Now I just need to make sure I don't take it for granted.
I admit, it has been hard for me to get used to being a stay-at-home mom. I'm not dying to go back to school by any means, and I'm actually still pretty burnt out. When people ask me how I did it, I honestly don't know. I'm not a super woman. All I know is that I finished in the nick of time too - I seriously would have had to drop out with the twins. And although I hated having two very time-consuming things that needed my attention - motherhood and school (and they both always seemed to need attention at the same time), now I feel a little useless. I know how important motherhood is, and I'm glad I can give all of my attention to Lachlan now. And I know I need to stay home for all three kids soon. But I can't help but feel like half of my identity (a student) was taken away. Now, I'm just a mom. Real adult life starts now. After my family leaves for Korea, I won't have much socializing or adult conversation. The whole time that I've been married, I've been a student. First, I was a student. Then a student and wife. Then a student and mother. Now, just a mother. I have to keep readjusting my identity every year or so. So I know I'll get used to it eventually, but with non-stop school since I was a little girl, this is going to take some time to adjust to.
I DID NOT like the latest Downton Abbey episode. I know it wasn't graphic, and Julian Fellowes has his excuses "“The whole point of the way we do things on Downton is we don’t do them gratuitously. We are interested in exploring the resultant emotions and the effect these things have on people.” But at what point is he going to stop? He has to keep taking it up a notch. What point is too much?
The weather has warmed up in Nauvoo and our kitty survived. I'm kick-starting my Mary Kay business again and trying to reorganize everything.

A New Year
It has seriously been too cold outside! I keep wanting to go on walks outside, but I'm going to freeze to death if I do! After all the lecturing I gave people to workout while they're pregnant, I have done nothing. People keep asking me if I'm doubly sick with these twins, but luckily I'm not. I was definitely tired while I was pregnant with Lachlan, but I think I'm doubly tired this time instead of doubly sick. I'm sleeping 10 hours at night. I fall asleep between 9-10 pm. Which is weird for me because I usually stay up until midnight. I have the opposite of insomnia. If I sit down too long, I fall asleep. I get tired after little tasks. Sometimes I have to sit down while I'm brushing my teeth in the morning because I don't have enough energy to stand up. I know that working out will probably give me an energy boost, but it's really hard to motivate yourself when just thinking about getting ready for the day makes you want to go to sleep again.
I usually feel the most nauseous at night, right before I pass out on the couch while we're watching something. Every morning, I have to ask Bear how the movie or TV show ended. And Bear has to carry me to bed every night. I think the nausea is my body forcing me to go to sleep. Besides not wanting to stand up to brush my teeth, I wish it didn't have to be a daily thing because I almost throw up every time I brush. I try to stay away from the back of my throat, but brushing the front of my teeth irritates my gag reflex. I'm 11 weeks, almost to the second trimester. I just look a tiny bit bloated, but I'm not really showing yet. Which kind of surprises me. I thought with it being my second pregnancy and twins, that I would start showing earlier. At least by now. But who knows, I might pop tomorrow.
Yesterday was Fast Sunday, and Susanna Grace saw me making breakfast for myself and asked me if I was going to fast. I realized that I haven't fasted in almost 2 years because I was pregnant with Lachlan, and then I nursed him for a year. So her question made me think to myself, "because I just finished nursing, this should be my first month to start fasting again!" And I felt like a horrible person for being so out of the habit of fasting and not remembering myself. It took me a few minutes to remember that I'm pregnant again. This happened when I was pregnant with Lachlan too - sometimes I forget that I'm pregnant when I'm not feeling super sick, I don't have a huge bump, and I don't feel any baby kicking. That will change soon when I'm the size of a whale though!
Our good news is...Bear got hired at American Marketing! He'll be selling advertising to towns around us. He has to memorize a page-long script before his first day (on Jan. 13th), so he's a little stressed. He also has a week of training and a day long conference that the company has every year, so he'll be gone for 9 days. Luckily, I'll have my parents and siblings to help and we're very excited and grateful - especially because we'll have medical insurance for the twins. I haven't been to the doctor since we've moved, but now that we have the insurance and I'm doing my homework, I'll set up an appointment soon.
My family is really into watching Foyle's War at the moment, and of course Downton Abbey Season 4! Also, my younger siblings were supposed to go back to school today, but it was cancelled because of the low temperatures. The thermostat is set at 72, but Bear and I still had to sleep with a space heater in our room last night and there's ice on the inside of some of the windows. The kids have been blowing frozen bubbles outside and throwing boiling water out into the negative degree air and watching it disappear (turn to steam). I started reading about freezing to death on the internet last night, and it made me really happy that we have a warm house. I don't know if our kitty survived out there though :(

Summer 2013
I'm not a witty, talented writer who can captivate readers without any pictures to look at. I don't sell anything or run a business. I don't want my blog to be full of complaining, snarky sarcastic negativity, or extreme consumerism. I don't have a cool car, a mansion (or even a small one to call my own), or costly vacations to show off. I don't want to only recycle and re-post others' ideas, but I don't feel creative/talented enough to come up with my own projects or recipes. Yes, I think that I have the cutest baby in the world, but what if I bore or annoy my readers by only posting about his cuteness? I love my husband, but I don't want to bug my readers by being to mushy or personal. Also, I almost want to start a new blog because this one has embarrassing posts dating back to my high school days. But I might be grateful to look back on them later in life.
So for now, we'll stick to a basic update.
We're in Fresno for the summer. This is Bear's third year selling door-to-door for Dewey Pest Control. It's not the funnest thing to do all summer, but you can't beat the money, especially while still in college. We're happy with the company and Bear believes in the product which helps him not burn-out. This is our first summer in Fresno, as the past two summers we went to Lancaster, CA. So yet again, we're in a new ward, trying to make friends and trying to find all the good places to shop and eat. I know there are some scary parts of Fresno, but I feel safe where we are and it hasn't been too hot - but that might change this weekend. There's a lot of agriculture around and it's a lot greener than Lancaster. There's even a Cheesecake Factory here! I just miss all of our family and friends when we strike out on our own each summer.
I'm working from home, taking calls from the sales guys each time they make a sale. I confirm the appointment and go over the contract with the customer on the phone and put all of the information into the computer. I'm grateful for the job - because I want to be a stay at home mom and it was so hectic being a full-time college student with a little baby the past few months.
I always tell myself that I won't move across the country like this again. But every summer, once we settle a little and we start making money again, and we get to live in sunny CA, I decide it's not so bad after all. And I've moved so much in my life, I think I need to keep moving and having adventures or I will get bored out of my mind.
I guess my only complaint is that we still only have one car, which Bear takes with him every day to work. And he doesn't get home til 9 pm usually. Of course, he doesn't start work til 1 pm, but Bear usually ends up eating something unhealthy that he can pick up really quick while he's knocking, or I end up waiting to eat dinner with him super late at night. And it's usually too late to go out and do anything at that hour, even if we didn't have a baby keeping us home. Plus, there's no one I know well enough to babysit. Oh well. It's never like this for long.
Our plans are to both graduate in December. I'll only have 7 credits and be mostly focusing on my senior paper. Bear will have 15 credits and plans to find a part-time job because we still don't know what we're doing after December (we don't even know if we're coming back to walk in the Spring), and we have to start paying off student loans soon.
And that is where we are at right now.

June Update
WOW. I've been busy. And I haven't even gone on vacation! I haven't gone anywhere fun. I haven't been to the beach. I haven't been to a concert. I haven't gone and seen any movies. And my camera is broken. So I feel like this post might be really lame.
I am working my butt off and making some money though. And I went through a cheating relationship and a bad breakup. But now I'm single and happy. And I'm not just saying that. I can go to college single and free now. You know the song Ridin' Solo by Jason Derulo? That's exactly how I feel. And I've become friends with Julie, who we refer to as Juwey. It's fun to have a college-age friend. We are each other's "person", like on Grey's Anatomy. She's putting her papers in for a mission and she's totally awesome. She's super athletic, and we all know I'm not, but we are still alike in a lot of ways. We've hung out everynight for the past 3 weeks and we're still not tired of each other yet. Gracie is in love with her. And you want to know the best part? She's my boss at Adventure Zone. My best friend is my boss. Woot.
I went to Girls Camp as an assistant, not just a youth camp leader. It was so fun to boss those littler girls around haha jk. But I did enjoy camp more as a leader. But the lake was closed because of e coli, someone got really hurt on the zipline, and the spelunking caves were closed because of a bat virus that humans spread. And it's a really old camp so toilets and showers were breaking all the time. Ew. I'm glad I got to come home early.
And we start practicing for the Nauvoo Pageant tomorrow (Red cast!!!). I'll be working when I can during it too. It seems sinful. And I might die from exhaustion, but I'm way excited to meet new people and see the old people. The Core Cast is the best. Gah. I'm excited. We'll find out if we're poor farmers or rich merchants tomorrow I guess. I can't wait to see what I'm in charge of and what I get to do. A lot of my friends are coming to watch this year. I am sad that G'ma and G'pa Limburg won't be in it with us this year though. But I am proud that they are on a real mission.
My mom's baby sister Micaela and her husband Travis came out and visited this weekend. They wanted to tour Nauvoo and see us before they move to Hawaii for a few years. She has 2 little girls that played with Mia and Noah nicely and they're expecting a boy on October 10! (10/10/10) Of course we played Ticket to Ride and ate gooey brownies!
But do you want to know the best news?

I'm going to SVU for sure now!!!
I got the $15,000 Marriott scholarship which is their biggest scholarship. I'm a Marriott Scholar! I get to have lunch with the college president when I get there. I did raise my GPA and ACT score and worked hard for it. And they were very nice about it and extended the time for me. So now I leave at the end of August. Orientation's on the 27th. My schedule's set, but I still need to buy books, find out where I'm staying and who my roommate is, and go college shopping. I will miss my family. And I thought I would have a hard time leaving home. But it's coming gradually and will get easier and easier to leave. Oh, I lied. I did go see one movie. We did go watch Toy Story 3 as a family. And I loved that Andy was leaving for college. I did cry at the end. I won't lie. It's so nice to say where I'm finally going. I don't know a soul there. I have no friends or family to watch out for me. But I'm surprisingly not scared.
It seems silly that I was so stressed about getting jobs and about this scholarship (read earlier posts.) It worked out perfectly. I feel watched over.
Today was the anniversary of the martrydom of Joseph and Hyrum. I forgot about it. But Micaela and Travis got to go to Carthage Jail today. So that was super special. They didn't plan that either. Once again, life is good.

Work

Well, the first place I work, I worked at last summer too. It's called the Nauvoo Fudge Factory. It is absolutely amazing. Like you either need to come to Nauvoo or order some. The family that owns it are just the sweetest. (haha no pun intended.) People come all the way from St. Louis for it (and there's fudge factories in St. Louis, if that tells you anything.) And the fun thing about living in Nauvoo is, people come from all over the world. So even though I live in a tiny town in the middle of the Midwest, I still get to meet people from India, Italy, and South Africa while I'm at work. People ask me how I can keep from eating it. Well, when you're around it all the time, it's not quite as tempting. But I do snitch every now and then. We do make the fudge there, but I don't make it. I just sell it. It's so fun to go to work there.

My second job is at Adventure Zone. I have only worked one day there. It's got go karts, a huge indoor playground, pizza delivery and other food, arcade games, prizes, and a party / theater room. I can't say much about it yet because of just the one day, but I think this one will go well too.
My third job is helping my old seminary teacher, Sister Smith around her house. She's in a wheelchair. She has 2 teenagers in the house, but they both have jobs too. And I'm very ambitious to get some college money haha. But I haven't gone and done that yet either.
Well, all my bosses are members of the church, and I know them all really well, which is exactly what I wanted. All the placed I work are closed Sunday, so I don't have to worry about working that day at all. In the past I've had bosses where I told them I couldn't work Sunday, but after a few months started scheduling me for every Sunday or asking me to come in for somebody else (and this was in Utah!). It got old after awhile. It was slowly affecting my life for the worse. Missing church a few weeks in a row is no bueno.
Work makes me happy. Come see me at work!

The Sad Week
And my counselor got an email from SVU saying I didn't meet the criteria for the Marriott Scholarship. That printed off email was like a death sentence in my hands. Yes, I cried in the next class I was in. Me and my counselor figured out it was my GPA. I needed a 3.8, but I had a 3.79. We thought we had explained to them that my GPA was supposed to go up to a 3.8 by the end of the year. I guess we didn't read the fine print that I was supposed to have a 3.8 of my 7th semester. I felt pushed to my limit and felt like I had wasted so much time. And we figured out I could only afford to get one B this semester to get a 3.8 - which is hard when you have major senioritis. And I was borderline A- B+ in 2 classes. And finals were coming up that could doom my grade (if you're a senior and you're getting an A in the class, you don't have to take your May finals). Well I was sitting in this math class crying (this was one of the borderline classes). And my math teacher had said earlier that because I was so borderline, I wouldn't have to take it. But she had to ask the principal just in case and he said I had to take it. So I had to take a final that could affect my GPA that could affect the scholarship.
And to make matters worse, I bled through my pants during that class. What the heck? That never happens to me. Nobody saw and luckily I had brought extra clothes for the awards night that I could change into. But seriously. I'm 18. Not 13. That shouldn't be happening. And then I only got one tiny local scholarship at the awards night. Even though I worked so hard on a million of them. That was a huge waste of time too. And I didn't get my Marriott Scholarship handed to me that night. It did get announced that I was going to SVU that night though. So then all my classmates were like "WHAT? I thought you were going to BYU???" And I really wasn't in the mood to explain and I couldn't say where I'm going for sure yet. I so envied the girl that had a full ride somewhere. Her future was decided. And her or her family didn't have to pay for anything.
Well I got very sick the next day (probably from getting so upset). And we had a chorus concert that night - and I had a solo. My throat felt like it was on fire. And the scholarship upsetedness had carried over from the day before. Well, before the concert, they practiced and started without me. So I was running down the hall in dinky heels and tripped at the top stair. I'm usually clumsy and have trained to catch myself. I did...but my heel fell off and my tights made me slip down the rest of the stairs to the tile below. I was in shock and just laid there for a few seconds. People thought I was unconscious. When I sat up, everyone was staring at me. Hooray for me! Bleeding through my pants one day, tripping down the stairs the next day. What else could I do to show my maturity as an 18 year old senior? I held the tears and pain in during practice, but as we were trying on our robes, I broke down. Which made my face nice and blotchy. But it did feel good to let everything out. And my solo wasn't bad.
Well I felt very forsaken. It was a horrible week. I had to say no to BYU (because of a deadline), and the scholarship from SVU I was counting on didn't work out. I applied for colleges really early and thought I was ahead of my game and that I was going to get more local scholarships. I felt like a failure not knowing what I was going to do this Fall.
But now I have two jobs secured this summer that will give me as many hours as they can (and they're both church members so I won't have to work Sundays and I can ask off for churchy things). And SVU said because they could tell I really wanted the scholarship, they're making a special exception and they'll wait for my 8th semester grades. So I won't find out where I'm going still til at least after school gets out. But that looks a little better and I got an A- on my math final...so things are looking a little on the upside. I have less than a week of school now. And we're not even doing anything. The time is going by so quickly though. It feels like there's 8 hours in a day.
So as of now, I'm still saying I'm going to SVU. And that's what I'm making my senior poster on. I hope all of this made sense.

Lexi Lou and the Chocolate Factory
Here, Eli is slicing up fudge. This looks like the peanut butter.
They rotate the batches of fudge on the marble table tops.
These are my cinnamon bears drowning in chocolate. (These chocolate cinnamon bears are irresistible. My flash went off so the chocolate is a weird color.)
This poor little bear was deformed, so I let Eli eat it and put it out of its misery before the general public could see it and humiliate it.
Eli washing the bars that hold the fudge while it sets up on the tables. Eli's my best friend and so I have a lot of fun working with him.
The log of peanut butter fudge before Eli started cutting it up
It's very tedious to make these cinnamon bears, and a lot of them get ruined. Those mats that they're hardening on are from France, and cost $60 a piece. They're very fragile. A lot of people comment on how expensive they are ($4 for 8 oz bag - about 20 pieces). But for how juicy good they are, and how they are all hand-dipped, I think it's worth it. The ties on the baggies say I ♥ Chocolate. They're so cute.
The fudge factory sells bags of flavored licorice. We cut them in half and dip them in chocolate. It's a $1.25 for 12 licorice nubs. They're so colorful on that little mat. It makes me happy.
A full log og fudge waiting to be sliced.
The flavors are: Chocolate Pecan, Chocolate Walnut, Vanilla Pecan, Plain Chocolate, Strawberries and Cream, Chocolate Mint, Penuche, Rocky Road, German Chocolate, Maple Walnut, Peanut Butter, Chocolate Peanut Butter, Dark Chocolate Orange, and Dark Chocolate.
It's definitely a place to stop in N Town. People come every year. My favorite are the chocolate covered pretzels.

Start of Summer!!!
I've been avoiding my blog. I always mess around with the html and mess up something. Right now, you can't leave me comments on each individual post. So if you want to leave me comments, please leave it on my tagboard by clicking on the "TAG" to the right.Anyways. School has been out for a week now. And it's my last summer in high school. I finally got a job at the N town fudge factory. I don't know how I'm going to get enough money for college. ugh. It makes me so stressed that I want to cry. But I love my new job. It's very good paying, good enviroment, I love all the people I'm working with, (2 of them good friends of mine), and who can't be happy with fudge all around you? (And usually the people who come to buy fudge are happy people). Lots of family are coming to visit us while we're in the pageant. And Amber's boyfriend from England will be coming and we'll get to do fun stuff like going to Six Flags. Write on my tagboard!
*edit* ~ later ~
i got my comments to work now. I promise I will be better at updating now.

UTAH UTAH UTAH
- My 15 page paper is due on the 24th, we don't have a printer
- My cellphone bill was $98 (I'm having to rake leaves for my parents to pay it back)
- So I have negative amounts of money (and don't know how I'm going to get the $5 to see Twilight this weekend)
- I have a 12-15 minute formal presentation about this 15 page paper on Dec. 10
- I have final exams Dec. 8-11
- I'm getting no hours at work
- I have a fund-raiser for our junior prom
- I'm taking the ACT for the first time on Dec. 13
But if I get through all of this...
my reward is going to UTAH for Christmas!!! And I get to miss a couple of days of school for it!!!
That's one reason why I'm so stressed out about money...
So I'm isolated at home for the week, except for tomorrow. I'm working for the first time in almost 2 weeks. And we have a talent show for mutual. But I seriously need to buckle down on this paper.
*peaceful utah thoughts*

A real summer has just begun! We're gonna hav efun in the sun!
Hooray. Today is a happy day.It was my last day of work. And let me say, I hated it there.
Carl's Junior is gestapo/natzi headquarters. A brand new one opened up here in our little town back in February. Me and my friend, Gina both applied because we had both quit our last jobs, and we needed a little more money for our trip to Japan. It seemed like the perfect place to work.
But it was not so. They never gave me the raise they said they would (even though I was there from the beginning). They took our employee 50% discount off (even when we were working). I was over-worked one week and on the schedule only one day for the next week. I admit it was organized, but too strict. You couldn't sit down or have a drink unless you were on break. You got sent home early if you weren't doing something. So you were always running around. Especially if it got busy. And if it got too busy you never got to go on a break. There were about 10 cameras behind the counter. There was one everywhere you went. And the owner just sits and watches us. It's creepy. The only place that doesn't have cameras is the bathroom (thank goodness). You couldn't sit around and talk to your co-workers. If you were in charge of drive-thru, from the time the people pull up to the menu and start ordering until they drove away with the food had to be below 2 and a half minutes. Insane crazniess!!! That was impossible if the customer had a big order or you had a new cook in the back (having no idea what they were doing). And "Natzi woman from California" (I won't mention any names) would pop in at least once a week unannounced and yell at us for what we were doing wrong. Or the owner and his wife. Pure evilness. I mean, I don't mind having a job, but it was to high-stress. And considering I'm still a 16 year old in high school, and I'm not trying to support my family, (just trying to pay my cell phone bill and earn some spending money), it was definitely not worth it.
But oh, how I will miss the Captain Crunch Shake. Or the chocolate cake. Oh my, the chocolate cake. My sweet sugary goodness. Luckily it's only a dollar and a half...the cream cheese frosting, the moist moistness...um, I'd better stop now. Before something happens. But I will miss Hayden too. He looked exactly like Linguini from Ratatoullie when he wears his chef hat. I don't have a picture of that, dang it.
Now I feel like my summer has really started. Haha this video is how I feel.
(A real summer has just begun! We're gonna have fun in the sun! Now that all of the hard work, work is done!)
And what you've all been waiting for! The winner of the fabric drawing is...
I just want to thank everyone for commenting. They were all really nice, and made me feel happy. This turned out a lot better than I thought it would. Keep up the comments and I will do another drawing!!!
