The Truth About Forever

Another good book. "the truth about forever" by Sarah Dessen. The swearing for no reason was unnecessary, but other than that it was clean. I bought it at the BYU bookstore while I was EFY. I kept putting it off, but it's pretty short. I liked it. Similar to A Love Like Lilly, but different too.

The Plot:

a long, hot summer
That's what sixteen-year-old Macy Queen has to look forward to. Her boyfriend, Jason, is going away to Brain Camp. She's stuck with a dull-as-dishwater job at the library. And all of her free time promises to be spent studing for the SATs or grieving silently with her mother over her father's death.
But everything changes when Macy is corralled into helping one of her mother's open house events, and she meets the caotic Wish Catering crew. Before long, Macy ditches her library job and joins up with the Wish ganag: bighearted Delia; quiet, introspective Monica, and fun-loving, fashion-conscious Kristy. But best of all, there's Wes - artistic, insightful, and understanding Wes - who gets Macy to look at life in a while new way....

And the bestest quote at the end:

"You ready?" he asked.
I nodded. "Go ahead. It's your turn."
"Okay," he said. "Let's see...."
We'd start slow, the way we always did, because the run, and the game, could go on for awhile. Maybe even forever,
That was the thing. you just never knew. Forever was so many different things. It was always changing, it was what everything was really all about. It was twenty minutes, or a hundred years, or just this instant, or any instant I wished would last and last. But there was only one truth about forever that really mattered, and it was this: it was happeneing. Right then, as I ran into that bright sun, and every moment afterwards. Look, there. Now. now. Now."

Happy 37th B-day, Mommy!!!

Hoorah it was my mom's birthday on Tuesday the 23rd. She is an amazing 37 years old.

My dad took my mom up to Provo. And I had all my friends come over and surprise my mom. And my daddy bought my mom a very expensive Nikon D80 camera. WOW!

This poem is dedicated to my mommy:

Once upon a time there was a child ready to be born. So one day she asked God, "They tell me you are sending me to earth tomorrow, but how am I going to live there being so small and helpless?"

God replied, "Among the many angels, I chose one for you. She will be waiting for you and will take care of you."

"But tell me, here in Heaven, I don't do anything else but sing and smile. That's enough for me to be happy."

God said, "Your angel will sing for you and will also smile for you every day. And you will feel your angel's love and be happy."

"And how am I going to be able to understand when people talk to me if I don't know the language that men talk?"

"Your angel will tell you the most beautiful and sweet words you will ever hear, and with much patience and care, your angel will teach you how to speak."

"And what am I going to do when I want to talk to you?"

God said, "Your angel will place your hands together and will teach you how to pray."

"I've heard that on earth there are bad people. Who will protect me?"

"Your angel will defend you even if it means risking its life."

"But I will always be sad because I will not see YOU any more."

"Your angel will always talk to you about me and will teach you the way for you to come back to me, even though I will always be next to you."

At the moment there was much peace in Heaven, but voices from earth could already be heard, and the child in a hurry asked softly, "Oh God, if I am about to leave now, please tell me my angel's name."

God silenced all fear when He said, "Your angel's name is of no importance.

"You will simply call her 'Mom'."

Date to the Mall

I went on my second date last Monday. We got it off for "Harvest Vacation" aka "the deer hunt". I went on a double date with Mike, and Spencer took Gina. Amanda came too haha.

Spencer drove us, and we blasted rock and country all the way up to Provo. We went to the mall, and I bought this cute shirt from Hollsiter.

And Gina bought a cute purse at American Eagle. Then I bought the lemon lip gloss and cotton lotion from Bath and Body. That lotion smells so good - like clean sheets!
We ate lunch, then went and played lazer tag. Mike and Spencer bought new shirts because they got in a perfume and lotion war at Bath and Body and they smelled like girls, and they wanted dark shirts to blend in for lazer tag, so they both bought the exact same tight-fitting shirts. They looked kind of bad together. People were whispering about them ("Are they gay?" whisper whisper...). The first round, the guy forgot to turn on the glowing lights so it was pitch black. And that Pirates of the Caribbean music didn't help either. We did it guys against girls, and the guys totally dominated. Then we went back to the mall, the girls got $5 manicures, and watched Game Plan. It was pretty funny (Gina, "Go team!")

Then me and Gina laughed the whole way home. Some akwardness...but all in all it was a good date.

I luv you Uncle Adam, telling me not to smooch on my date ahahahahaha

A Love Like Lilly

Okay, this is like a really very muy mucho good book. The author came to our school, but I didn't have any money and wasn't able to buy any of her autographed books. And people say The Secret Journal of Brett Colton is better than this one, but I still like A Love Like Lilly.

I've just been feeling very happy about femininity lately. I'm excited to get married in the temple, have a family, and be mom. To make quilts for my family, cook yummy stuffs, decorate, and take pictures. Gloria, my mom, and Kelly are my inspiration.

I've had some experiences lately that have proven true to Gloria's steel magnolia talk she had with me when we went to visit her this summer. About how she didn't do anything bad, but she wished she would have saved more of herself for Mike, her husband. And how she wanted me to do the same.

And it's so true. Young Women are supposed to help young men honor their priesthood, and encourage them to go on missions. If you get into a serious relationship, it can affect their decision to go on a mission or honor their priesthood. A few dates here and there are fun. But nothing more. So for now I'd rather just have lots of crushes and flirt and not steady date and have fun. Besides all these high school boys have to go on missions anyways and things will be different when they get back. I might go on a mission, and I definately want to go to college. Who knows what will happen between now and then. So I'm saving myself and my Cinderella story for my future husband. I hope he's saving himself for me.

I love you Gloria, you're my second mom. Thanks for talking to me about that. And to quote A Love Like Lilly, "I am ready now. For anything and everything...."

Life's What You Make It, So Let's Make It Rock

Well, my crazy week of "turning-in-last-minute-assignments-and-trying-to-get-extra-credit-before-the-term-ends" is finally over.
It was so stressful.

But now I have a wonderful 3-day weekend to look forward to. And I don't work any of those days, and I got to go to the temple finally. I haven't been able to go since May. I wish they didn't have to reserve as a stake to go to the temple. That's what I miss about the Tokyo temple. And just hopping on the train by myself.

And then I got to hang out with all my friends (Sam, Ethan, Cortney, Kaitlyn, and Mike) after that. I love screech-laughing my head off with Gina. But I think it annoys people. But I do it anyways. Apples to Apples was so funny. So many inside jokes - "mac & tash", "tash = tash + ???" ahahahahaha
I don't have to work tomorrow - Sunday. The first Sunday in weeks!!! I finally told my boss I can't work on Sundays anymore. And then on Monday we get to go up north with Gina, Spencer, Mike, and Amanda. Hooray!!! Happy day!

I'm loving my life right now. Laughing your guts out is definately a good thing.

State Cross Country

This week has been so hectic...Friday's the last day of first term. I've been having humorous short stories to turn in in English, stupid all-day field trips for biology (and our teacher is perverted, no joke), final practices for our short school play, and state cross country. And all the homework and schoolwork I have to make up for those 2 days of school that I missed (for the field trip and state cross country)....and work taking up all my spare time. But the good news is....

our girls took STATE at cross country!!! We're #1!!!!

I didn't get to run because it's my first year and I'm JV, but I'll definitely run varsity next year. My dad's going to train me all next summer. And hopefully he'll be able to be the assistant coach. I got to cheer and scream my head off in the snow, rain, and hail. I got so muddy, and water sopped through my shoes top and bottom. My feet went numb, but it was all worth in the end because we won state, we got to go to Rodizio's, and I got to meet Gina's friends, Kyle.

I bought two new pairs of shoes yesterday. Some brown championship shoes and some 30's style black high heels. Both are pretty sexy.

But our coach is retardedo and went to Walmart before the meet and after the meet. And we all had to wait on the bus while he went into Home Depot for his own personal needs. And the mall was right next door! And he wouldn't let us go in! I was dang mad.

But eating at Rodizio's was amazing. Those Brazilian raspberry lemonades, fried bananas, all the grilled meat and pineapple you can eat...the bus ride home was fun.

Kelton bought this Halloween mask at Walmart and it was pretty nasty looking. A zombie alien looking thing. Then David wore it and slithered along the bus floor between the rows of seats, and slithered passed my leg. I screamed my head off, and of course all the boys got a kick out of it. And then a little while later Mac comes up behind me and asks me if it freaked me out. I was all like, yeah, and describing it in detail: "...and all of the sudden I look down and a mutated thing was at my feet..." and I scream again because there was another person below my seat. Mac and this kid under my seat were laughing their heads off, and I couldn't figure out who it was that was under me. It kind of seemed like Ben, but it couldn't be, it didn't seem like something he would do. But it was! And that fact was so freaky that I screamed again. Yeah, Mac and Ben were happy that they kept getting me to scream.

We get out of school early tomorrow!!!! Hurray for deer-hunt weekend!!!

Region Cross Country

Tomorrow's state cross country. And we had region at Beaver last Wednesday. Out of eight 2A schools, Millard girls took first, and Millard boys took second. Hurray!!!!

(above, from left:) our varsity girls team that took first at region! Mr. Alldredge, our principal, Katie, Kylie, Maira, Shelli, Whitney, Megan, and Stevie, and Mr. Moat our assisstant coach)
(above: all our boys, JV and varsity: Kelton, Chevy, Josh, Mike, Carson, MacConnell, Osten, Juan, Bourn, Spencer, David, and Jacob)

(above: our JV girls. Hopefully I'll be able to run varsity next year. It was annoying because they didn't even count the JV's time and we didn't contribute anything to region, so we might as well have not run.) But I love our JV girls!!! Jessica, Shelby, Tashi, and me

I won second in JV girls!!! It was windy - I look like crap.

Life = Hectic, Homecoming = Fun

Life has been so hectic, it's not even funny. Between, work, homework, church and all it's responsibilities and activities, hanging out with friends, chores, school, Youth Court, and cross country etc...I'm barely juggling it all.
(above, left from right: Mike, me, Joey, Gina, Jessica, and Tyson)

State cross country is this Wednesday at Sugar House Park. I'm JV this year, so I don't have to run at state, but I get to just go and watch. And then go to the mall and Rodizio's afterwards. Hurray!!! But between the field trip for biology tomorrow, and state cross country, I'll have a lot of school work to make up. Aaaarrrrrgggghhh.
Anyhoo, do you like my Homecoming pictures? Notice my GIANORMOUS calves from running cross country. Mike asked me, and we went on a triple with Joey, Gina, Tyson, and Jessica. The boys made a steak, candle-lit dinner for us girls at Joey's house, and we watched Tuck Everlasting. Aaaaahhhhh

We were planning on going miniature-golfing, but we got the first snow of the year that day = it was freezing and snowy so it didn't work out. So we got all cozy at Joey's. Lots of funny things happened at dinner....ahahaha whatever happened at that table stayed at that table.
And me, Gina, and Jessica somehow all cuddled up on a recliner during the movie. We got so cozy and warm, that was the fuzziestest feeling.
Gina did my hair, and her older sister Mackenzie did my makeup. And I borrowed Gina's necklace and headband. My mom wasn't there, she was at a girls weekend with my grandma, all my aunts, and girl cousins at my grandma's house.
So yeah, and the dance was good too.
And the ice cream at Jesssica's house afterwards....
