The Truth About Forever

Another good book. "the truth about forever" by Sarah Dessen. The swearing for no reason was unnecessary, but other than that it was clean. I bought it at the BYU bookstore while I was EFY. I kept putting it off, but it's pretty short. I liked it. Similar to A Love Like Lilly, but different too.

The Plot:

a long, hot summer
That's what sixteen-year-old Macy Queen has to look forward to. Her boyfriend, Jason, is going away to Brain Camp. She's stuck with a dull-as-dishwater job at the library. And all of her free time promises to be spent studing for the SATs or grieving silently with her mother over her father's death.
But everything changes when Macy is corralled into helping one of her mother's open house events, and she meets the caotic Wish Catering crew. Before long, Macy ditches her library job and joins up with the Wish ganag: bighearted Delia; quiet, introspective Monica, and fun-loving, fashion-conscious Kristy. But best of all, there's Wes - artistic, insightful, and understanding Wes - who gets Macy to look at life in a while new way....

And the bestest quote at the end:

"You ready?" he asked.
I nodded. "Go ahead. It's your turn."
"Okay," he said. "Let's see...."
We'd start slow, the way we always did, because the run, and the game, could go on for awhile. Maybe even forever,
That was the thing. you just never knew. Forever was so many different things. It was always changing, it was what everything was really all about. It was twenty minutes, or a hundred years, or just this instant, or any instant I wished would last and last. But there was only one truth about forever that really mattered, and it was this: it was happeneing. Right then, as I ran into that bright sun, and every moment afterwards. Look, there. Now. now. Now."
