New Shoes
Tuesday, June 21, 2011

I bought Gracie these pink sparkle TOMS for her birthday. So now eberyone in my family has a pair of TOMS except my dad and Bear. But quite frankly, I think they're kinf of un-manly. I need to find some dress shoes for Bear. Anybody have suggestions?
I love TOMS!!!!!!!! The ivory glitter TOMS are back in stock. Those are the ones I originally wanted. It's so tempting...but fixing Tercel was a little more expensive than we thought. Ah, newlywed finances. I love it.
Does anybody else own TOMS? Which are your favorite?

Baseball Day

My TOMS are here. And I feel like a princess because they're sparkly.

Our boys won of course. 18-6. 3 home-runs in the first inning and one of them was a grand slam. They're at 27 wins, 5 losses. I'm sad that I can't go watch them at nationals.

I'm so proud of them, especially #9. And we got to go to Chipotle afterwards. I was quite happy.

I love all the baseball wives/girlfriends. We're becoming good friends. I'm glad that Bear is passionate about something. I love going to the games. Baseball is actually fun to watch for me. And I got my ride home all set up. Even though I'm running on no sleep, I'm happy. Being engaged can be frustrating, but so happy at the same time. He's good to me. I love life. I love him.

TOMS
^ These are the ones I got for Mia's birthday.
^ These are the ones I got for Noah's birthday.
Their birthdays are the 15th and 17th and they'll be 10 and 7! I'm freaking out! Mia will be older than I was when she was born! They won't be little squish bubs anymore.
So anyways, these shoes are a little expensive. Because you're technically buying two pairs of shoes. I got this information off of their website:
One for One
TOMS Shoes was founded on a simple premise: With every pair you purchase, TOMS will give a pair of new shoes to a child in need. One for One. Using the purchasing power of individuals to benefit the greater good is what we're all about. The TOMS mission transforms our customers into benefactors, which allows us to grow a truly sustainable business rather than depending on fundraising for support.
The TOMS Story
In 2006, American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended children in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he created TOMS Shoes, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes given to a child in need. One for One. Blake returned to Argentina with a group of family, friends and staff later that year with 10,000 pairs of shoes made possible by TOMS customers.
As of September 2010, TOMS has given over one million pairs of new shoes to children in need through Giving Partners around the world.
Countries they currently give to:
| Argentina | Honduras | South Africa |
| Armenia | Lesotho | Swaziland |
| Burundi | Malawi | Uganda |
| Cambodia | Mali | United States |
| China | Mongolia | Zambia |
| El Salvador | Nicaragua | |
| Ethiopia | Niger | |
| Guatemala | Peru | |
| Haiti | Rwanda |
