Torn Between Two Worlds

Well, my life is very complicated right now. Too much drama. I haven't had to feel emotion like this since 7th grade, before I was doing homeschool. High school is way better than junior high. But like my friends who did homeschool all their lives, they just started highschool this year too. It depresses them, and I know how they feel. Lots of stress going on here.
In September, Kortney and Sam will turn 18, and I'll turn 16. Big milestones. And there's homecoming a week after my birthday, and on Sam's 18th birthday. One girl in my stake who just turned 16 in June has already been asked to homecoming. I'm a little bit sutffed to the max right now. Now that school's started, I'm missing my friends from church in Japan. Not Japanese school, but my friends.

So I will dedicate a song to my friends in Japan:
I miss you,
I miss you smile
And I still shed a tear every once in a while
And even though it's different now
You're still here somehow
My heart won't let you go
And I need you to know
I miss you, sh-la-la-la
I miss you

Lexi's Summer 2007 Highlights

School has been in for over a week now, and I've been so busy I've barely been able to sit down at the computer. But here are some highlights of this summer:

May 11
Me and my dad arrived in Utah. The next few days after that were long and hard. I was an emotional wreck because I missed Japan so much. I cried all day, didn't want to eat, and was on the computer all day emailing to Japan.

May 24
Last day of school (I wasn't going to school yet though) and yearbook signing dance that I went to. It ended up being a really lame dance (I know my summer sounds pathetic up until here, but it gets better)

May 26
Susanna Grace was born!!!

May 31
Youth Conference at Kessler Ranch. The dance at the end was very very fun.

June 5
My first time at Youth Court and my first day working at Larry's

June 12-15
M Stake Girl's Camp

June 17
Father's Day - and Gracie's blessing day

June 18
Grandma and Grandpa L. flew to Guatemala for their mission

June 20-23
Youth Court Conference

July 4
The 4th of July!!! I had so much fun with my friends that day

July 13
Cousins BBQ and pool party at my great-aunt Eileen's

July 19
Seven Peaks - I had fun, but it seemed like everybody else but me had brought a friend of the opposite gender with them

July 23
Tokyo 3rd Ward Reunion in Lehi - I saw Austin, Nick, and Ricky for the first time in a long time.

July 24
Pioneer Day - Fun stuffs at Kanosh park, watching Coll Runnings at Stevie's house, and the amazing dance afterwards

July 25-August 3
Road trip - Colorado, Kansas, Missouri, Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, Wyoming - going to all the church history sites. It was so fun to stay at the Rodenberg's house in Illinois and visit Nauvoo with them. Oh and of course HAIRSPRAY!!!

August 4
Went and visited family at the Challis Family Campout, Tracy cut and colored my hair

August 6-11
EFY!!! The classes, the dances, the games, cute, modest, and virtuous boys, the devotionals...too much goodness to talk about there.

August 16
First Day of School at M High - I got lost in a school that small! It's pretty sad! Went and watched the community play - "Anything Goes". haha I didn't like it haha

August 17
High School Musical 2 (Gina, Noah, and Eden came to our house to watch it)

August 18
Stout family potluck at Natalie's

So as you can see, I had a very busy summer. I barely spent anytime with family. I was spending all my time with the friends I thought I'd never make.

The things above are what I did, but here are some firsts for me this summer -

  • I started my first job (at Larry's)
  • Went to a stake dance and was able to ask a boy to dance for the first time (on Ladies Choice mind you)
  • Gracie was born
  • Grandma and Grandpa L. went on a mission
  • Went to a 3 night-4 day Girl's Camp and dug my own toilet
  • Went to a 1 day Youth Conference
  • Youth Court Conference (and youth court) - Eden, Noah, and Sam became my best friends
  • Hanging out with my friends all day on the 4th of July
  • Going to Seven Peaks with my friends
  • Seeing Nick, Austin, and Ricky at the Tokyo 3rd Ward reunion for the fist time in 5-6 years
  • Getting a boy at Youth Court Conference sitting in the corner at the dance to come join the circle of dancing. He ended up becoming one of my best friends
  • Having my crush at Youth Court Conference ask me to dance on the first slow dance
  • Having a boy really swing dance me at the 24th of July dance.
  • Got my hair colored for the first time
  • Got fake nails for the first time
  • 2 musical movies (Hairspray and HSM 2) came out this summer with Zac Efron as one of the leads
  • Went on a road trip around the midwest for the first time, went to Nauvoo, got to visit with the Rodenbergs
  • Went to EFY for the first time and had a mutual COW (crush of the week)
  • Eden and Noah moved to Provo - sadness indeed
  • Gina became my best friend
  • I started my first year of American High school or any American school for that matter
  • My cousin Stephen turned 18

* "U and Ur Hands" by Pink (I'm not here for your entertainment...)
* "Don't Matter" by Akon (Nobody wanna see us together, but it don't matter no, because I got you babe)

Back to School

School has started, and I have had absolutely no time to be on my blog. But I will never quit on my blog. NEVER, I tell you. I can't believe that summer's over. 3 Japanese-friendless-months loomed ahead of me, but it seems like I went to bed on the last day of school, and woke up the next morning to find that it was the first day of school. My camera is broken right now, but I have a 1-year warranty, and daddy is going to work on that when he goes back to Japan. Next post I will do a "2007 Summer Highlight Post". So be excited. But for now I will talk about my first few days of school.

Well, after EFY, I had to take a couple of exams through BYU independent study that I was supposed to take during the year. But I was lazy. So haha I spent my last couple days of summer vacation studying and taking tests at the library. But Wednesday, the 15th, was our last day and we went to 5-buck pizza and got pizza and ice cream. Then Liza and Gina came over to my house and they picked out my outfit for school the next day then we rotated and went to Gina's house and Liza's house. I had to work for an hour for Leslie at Larry's, and then finally we went to mutual. We played Rounders, which is the pioneer version of baseball. But it's so much more fun!!! I was pretty good at it. aha.

Gina was going to come pick us up at 7:15 am. I set my alarm, but apparently I didn't hear it because I woke up and looked at my clock and it was 7:05 am. Gina came right on time, but we definately weren't ready. So we walked to school with Kortney. And we just went to an assembly and all of our classes. I was so lost it wasn't even funny. Because Millard High is so small. I shouldn't be lost. And just because I'm a Limburg (and I'm from Japan), I'm a celebrity. I would walk into a class for the first time, and people would know my full name and that I was from Japan. Or my seminary teacher heard my name and asked me to play the piano because he knew I could. "Why do I know she can play the piano?" he asks the class. "Because she's a Limburg". Dang, Micaela and grandma, you cursed the family! JK
And here are my classes for this year and my teachers:
First Year Spanish - Mrs. Kit Stevens
Driver Ed - Mr. Tracy Keel (his daughter is in my class)
10th grade English - Mr. Stoney Myers
Geometry - Mr. Ryan Hansen
Biology - Mr. Robert Greider
Seminary - Brother Rasmussen
Theater - Mr. McKay Shields
Computer Technology - Mrs. LaRee Stephenson

So Stoney Myers got all excited because he knew Paul and John, and is Jill's age. He keeps telling me how much I look like my mom and Jill. And High school Musical 2 was on Friday night. But I must say it disappointed me. Zac Efron is the only reason I watched it. But it was fun to have Noah, Eden, and Gina come over to watch it. And I'm doing cross country, and it's really hard right now especially to see Shelli running farther than me but being faster. I really want that Limburg runnning gene to kick in right about now. I've already made fun of my mom in her senior picture hung up at the school. With her giant hair...hahahaha I've found Micaela, Paul, and Hans Watson. Except under Paul's picture it said Limbury instead of Limburg. But it's fun because I basically know everyone at school, I have a locker in the senior hall, I get to go to lunch devotional everyday, and I'll be 16 in time for homecoming. And hurray! I get to be at school everyday at 6:30 am to run! Oh, and joy! I think my eyes were closed for my school picture!!! Oh, and we all have to have locks on our lockers this year. Yep, it's going to be a crazy but fun year.
